County jail staff member promoted

The alternative sentence coordinator at Washington County Jail has been promoted to the rank of major.
Washington County Prison Board on Wednesday approved the promotion of Christopher Cain, whose annual salary will be $51,499.
Warden John Temas said Cain was selected for the job after it was posted internally and a dozen candidates were interviewed.
Cain has worked at the jail for 15 years. The role of major requires him to oversee daily operations of the jail.
