Former N.J. Gov. Whitman to speak at Waynesburg U.

Former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman will speak at 7:30 p.m. April 24 as part of Waynesburg University’s DeVito Lecture Series.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend Whitman’s lecture, “Women in Leadership: Does It Make a Difference?” in Alumni Hall.

Whitman is the president of the Whitman Strategy Group, a consulting firm that specializes in energy and environmental issues. WSG offers a comprehensive set of solutions to problems facing businesses, organizations and governments. It has been at the forefront of helping leading companies find innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

She served in the cabinet of President George W. Bush as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency from January 2001 until June 2003. She was the 50th governor of New Jersey, serving as its first woman governor from 1994 until 2001.

She is the author of a New York Times best seller called “It’s My Party Too.”

Whitman’s visit was made possible through the Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program, offered by the Council for Independent Colleges, and the Rosetta Kormuth DeVito Lecture Series.

The Rosetta Kormuth DeVito Lecture Series was created to explore topics related to business, culture and the arts. The lecture series, funded by the DeVito family, addresses a variety of current topics that are of interest to graduate and undergraduate students and the community.
