WAYNESBURG -Waynesburg University’s Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter will celebrate the public relations field with a weeklong event Monday through April 18.

PR week celebrates the study of public relations by offering professional presentations, networking opportunities and activities relevant to the communication field.

The week is open to all university students, including advertising, marketing and business students interested in learning more about the field and meeting working professionals.

Throughout the week, experienced industry professionals will travel to Waynesburg University to speak about the various facets within the field of public relations. Guests and department of communication alumni will discuss corporate communication, firm culture, social media analytics and more.

PR week was founded and developed extensively through the guidance of the university’s PRSSA Chapter and the Chapter’s adviser, Richard Krause, chairman of the department of communication. Krause originally designed the week with the help of students and now relies on them to assist in contacting and introducing speakers, coordinating facilities and performing evaluation measures.

“The programs are designed to give our current students knowledge of the public relations industry,” Krause said. “We have a very strong list of speakers and the range is intentionally diverse. The speakers will provide students with insight about agency, health care, corporate and energy fields of public relations.”

For more information, contact Krause at 724-852-3240 or by e-mail at rkrause@waynesburg.edu.
