Friday was quite a day for Avery Molek. The 6-year-old from Chartiers Township started the day playing drums with Glen Dale, W.Va., native Brad Paisley on “Good Morning America” and followed it with an appearance pounding on the skins on “LIVE with Kelly and Michael,” which follows “Good Morning America” on ABC-TV.

The first-grader has played with many bands throughout the region and attracted the attention of Paisley after a video of his drumming along to Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher” was aired last week on “Good Morning America.”

As of Friday afternoon, the video of Molek playing drums along with “Hot for Teacher” had been viewed 1.4 million times on YouTube.

He is a son of Ed and Elizabeth Molek of Chartiers Township.
