Harveys-Aleppo Grange to hold free electronics recyling

GRAYSVILLE – A free computer and electronic recycling event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at the Harveys-Aleppo Grange at the intersection of Route 21 and Grange Road, just east of Graysville.

The event is sponsored by the grange and is open to all county residents. A similar recycling event for electronics is being held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Old Greensboro School in Greensboro.

The recycling events will give county residents the opportunity to dispose of electronic items, which can no longer be included in curbside trash collection as the result of the Covered Device Recycling Act.

Items that will be accept at the Harveys-Aleppo Grange recycling event include: desktop and laptop computers, computer components and peripherals, microwaves, modems, routers, networking equipment, printers, scanners, faxes, copiers, remote controls, servers, laptop docking stations, telephones, cellular telephones, telecom equipment, televisions, UPS backup systems, power supplies, transformers, electric motors, video gaming consoles, wires, cables, DVDs, VCRs, CD and MP3 players, stereos, audio visual equipment, CRT monitors, dummy terminals, digital cable boxes, ethernet switches, networking hubs, ink and toner cartridges, LCD monitors and other information-technology-related items.

The recycling event is only for electronic equipment. Items such as appliances, furniture or household garbage will not be accepted.
