A March 25 fire at a storage shed in New Freeport, Greene County, has been ruled arson by a state police fire marshal.

Fire Marshal Sean Jones said the fire at 149 Main St., which is owned by Carolyn Hill, of St. Mary’s, W.Va., was started by a juvenile playing with fire.

Jones was asked by New Freeport Volunteer Fire Department Chief Alan Shipman to investigate the blaze, which did an estimated $10,000 in damages.
