CARMICHAELS – A Cumberland Township man was charged this week with corruption of a minor, furnishing alcohol to a minor, disorderly conduct and harassment.

According to a criminal complaint, Matthew Franklin Conard Jr., 45, of 207 4th St., Crucible, allegedly provided alcoholic beverages to an underage female and engaged in sexual activity with her from October 2012 to January.

These acts occurred at a residence in Carmichaels.

Conard also is alleged to have shown the girl a pornographic video at his residence sometime in early December. Police said she told them she watched it because she was afraid Conard may go into a rage if she didn’t go along with it, something she said he had done in the past on unrelated matters.

Police said Conard told them he did not remember all of the details of the instances of sexual contact with the girl because he only did it while impaired by alcohol.

A preliminary hearing for Conard has been scheduled for May 15 at 1:30 p.m. before Greene County Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson.
