CARMICHAELS – The Flenniken Public Library will close at 1 p.m. April 26 for a staff workshop on digital devices and mobile library services. Library services will resume at 10 a.m. April 27.

Library Director and CEO Linda Orsted said, “We were able to purchase several e-readers and tablets for training through a grant from the Chevron Community Fund. We thank them for recognizing how important it is for public libraries to be a great source of information and assistance to people who need help using these devices. This workshop will enable the staff members to continue to provide excellent library services to our community.”

Library services are available 24/7 on the website, www.flenniken.org, including the library’s online catalog: WAGGIN, and the Overdrive collection of downloadable e-books. WAGGIN and Overdrive are free services provided by the Washington Library District.

Upcoming events at the library include Anime Club at 3 p.m. April 29, and Pushing the Limits book/video discussion at 6:30 p.m. May 1. The book title is “The Land of Painted Caves” by Jean Auel.

Library hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
