North Strabane Township is collecting e-waste, scrap metal and tires at the township’s public works garage May 4.

The township is accepting unwanted computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, cellphones, cameras, microwaves and other e-waste that is not permitted to be placed by the curb for normal garbage pick-up.

The recycling event also will accept batteries, scrap metal and tires. There will be a fee for tires depending on their size, although there is no charge for the other waste.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the public works garage located across from the softball field. The collection will benefit Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, according to township officials.

Call 724-745-8880 for more information about the recycling event.
