California couple sues borough over sewer project wall collapse

A California couple who saw a wall constructed as part of a sewer project collapse behind their home is suing borough council, a contractor and an insurance company.

Construction of the sewers began in January 2010 and lasted until August 2011, said Peter Daley, who is representing George and Shirley Frank, who live on Knob Road near University Park and the California University stadium.

The 20-foot-tall wall spans about 100 feet, and a a 45- to 50-foot section subsided.

In addition to California Borough Council, named in the suit are Glen Johnson, individually and trading or doing business as Glen Johnson Construction, 1055 Center St., McKeesport, and Berkley Mid Atlantic Group Insurance Co., Richmond, Va., Kevin W. Nattrass, president and chief executive officer.
