GREENVILLE (AP) – Detectives are seeking tips in the mysterious death of a 76-year-old Western Pennsylvania businessman who was stabbed 70 times.

Authorities in Mercer County say in a Wednesday release that they still don’t have a suspect or person of interest in the death of 76-year-old Frank Crash, whose body was found July 25 after he didn’t show up at his auto salvage business about 70 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Investigators also say they believe cash and a large yellow gold ring with a 3.5 carat diamond were stolen. That’s a large ring with a diamond slightly smaller than Roosevelt’s head on a dime.

Police haven’t located a murder weapon. They say the investigation is far from over and they don’t expect it to be concluded in the near future.
