JOHNSTOWN (AP) – Police have been searching several Western Pennsylvania counties for a man charged with fatally stabbing his live-in girlfriend in a car wash bay.
Johnstown police say 21-year-olds Demetrius Gibson and Elizabeth Ann Miller had argued at the home they shared early Tuesday before she left, but later agreed to meet Gibson at the car wash to talk and exchange a cellphone.
Police say Miller got in Gibson’s vehicle, and that he stabbed her — severing a key artery — when the argument resumed.
Miller died shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, and Gibson hasn’t been seen since.
Police have recovered the survival knife police say Gibson used, and later found his vehicle abandoned in Johnstown.
The search for Gibson continued Wednesday in Cambria, Somerset and other nearby counties.
