Car damaged: Marla Jean King of 40 Florence Drive, Charleroi, told Southwest Regional police Friday that the rear bumper of her car was damaged while the vehicle was parked in the lot at Rite Aid, 175 Wilson Road, Bentleyville.
Bicycle stolen: James Sicchitano of 106 Russic Ave., Bentleyville, told Southwest Regional police Friday that his son’s purple Magnum bicycle was stolen from his home.
Assault, theft charges: Charles S. Roman, 42, of 321 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg, was charged Thursday by Canonsburg police with simple assault, theft and harassment for allegedly assaulting Roxanna Steadman, 370 Euclid, at her home June 16 and stealing $60. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Threat, harassment charges: Jaymes Wesley Hillen, 25, of 1339 Lexington Drive, Lawrence, was charged Thursday by Canonsburg police with terroristic threats and harassment. He is accused of sending threatening text messages July 22 to Ryan Zavada of 535 Franklin Ave. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Forgery, other charges: Sharon Lynn Javornicky, 44, of 1162 Route 519, Canonsburg, was charged Monday in a private criminal complaint with forgery, deceptive business practices and identity theft. Angela M. Zaccone of 311 E. Pike St., Houston, alleges that Javornicky used the Social Security number of a 6-year-old boy to obtain a credit card. The charges, approved by the Washington County district attorney’s office, will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
DUI, other charges: Emily Dzik, 24, of 1922 Virginia Via, Canton Township, will be charged by North Franklin police with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving stemming from a crash July 31 on West Chestnut Street. Kathleen Brennan, 64, of 850 Beech St., Washington, told police she was going west on West Chestnut and had slowed to turn into the Donut Connection when she was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Dzik. Dzik pulled into a nearby lot, yelled obscenities at Brennan, and then left, police said. Brennan obtained a license plate number, and police said they found Dzik still behind the wheel of a vehicle at her home. Dzik’s blood-alcohol content was 2 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication, police said. Brennan and a passenger, Cheryl Glass, 66, also of 850 Beech, went to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Extension cord stolen: Garrett Plagman of Independence, W.Va., told North Franklin police Thursday that a 125-foot extension cord was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at Comfort Suites, 2110 North Franklin Drive.
Intruder charged: Earl Phillips II, 25, of 360 McCarrell Ave., Washington, was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after he was found Aug. 1 passed out on the couch at the home of Daniel and Carol Howard, 900 VanKirk Road, North Franklin police said. The Howards knew Phillips, but police said he did not have permission to be in their home. He allegedly removed food from the refrigerator and spilled it on the floor, and urinated on the floor. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Extinguishers stolen: Five fire extinguishers were stolen from school buses in the bus garage at 1000 Churchhill Road between July 26 and 8:16 a.m. Wednesday, township police said. The extinguishers are valued at $370.
Attempted burglary: A resident of the 100 block of Lutes Road returned home after work Tuesday to discovered someone attempted to enter the residence by breaking a glass window in a rear bedroom, leaving pry marks on the frame, township police said. No entry was made. The incident was reported at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday.
Trucks crash: State police said two trucks crashed about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 70 westbound near the Eighty Four exit, South Strabane. A tractor-trailer driven by Kevin Hargett, 41, of Florence, Ky., struck the rear of a dump truck driven by Anthony M. Lagora, 53, of North Huntingdon. The dump truck went over a guardrail and rolled down an embankment. The tractor-trailer traveled 50 feet before hitting the guardrail and jackknifing. Police did not indicate if either driver was injured.
Items stolen: Dawnette Naverre of Houston, Texas, told South Strabane police Tuesday that a lawn mower, end table and foot stool were stolen from her former residence on Wilbert Avenue.
Two charged: Kevin R. Ledbetter, 25, of 464 E. Hallam Ave., Washington, and Zackery A. Maier, 19, of 459 Malone Ridge Road, Canton Township, will be charged by South Strabane police with retail theft and conspiracy for their alleged role in stealing a 39-inch LED television from Walmart, Trinity Point, Monday. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Paraphernalia charges: Shannon Louise Hilbert, 20, of 24 Allegheny Ave., Cuddy, and Kenneth Lee Brooks, 20, of 1048 Sycamore Ave., were both charged by state police under the controlled substance statute after police serving a sealed search warrant at Brooks’ residence said they found a glass pipe with marijuana residue March 22. A summons was sent Wednesday through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Assault charge: Venise Williams, 34, of 272 N. Franklin St., Apt. 1, was charged by city police with simple assault following an altercation with her neighbor, Shannon Bennett, 36, of 272 N. Franklin St., Apt. 2. According to police documents, Williams threw a television set at Bennett as she was standing on the porch. The television set went through a window, sending glass fragments into Bennett’s right arm, police said. Williams was arraigned by District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
