The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists of a single-lane restriction on Route 18 in Franklin Township, between Water Dam Road (Route 4035) and Garner Run Road (Route 4033).

The restriction will begin at 7 a.m. Monday and will continue through Nov. 24.

The restriction will be in place in order to allow crews to replace the current bridge with a pre-cast box culvert. Phase 1 of the replacement will start with a southbound single-lane restriction controlled by temporary traffic signals.

Phase 2 will switch to a northbound restriction after completion of phase 1. The lane restrictions will be place 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the duration of the project. Motorists are reminded to always be alert for changing traffic patterns in all work zones.

The contractor performing the work is Allison Park Contracting. This project is the fourth part of a four structure contract at a cost of $3.7 million.
