HARRISBURG (AP) – A small plane has crash-landed at Harrisburg International Airport, skidding across the airport’s lone runway on its belly and forcing the runway to close temporarily.

Airport spokesman Scott Miller said the pilot was the only person aboard the single-engine plane Thursday night and was uninjured.

Miller told The Patriot-News the plane had an issue with its landing gear.

The crash landing happened between 7 and 7:30 p.m. The runway was closed because the plane was blocking part it. The runway reopened about 8:15 p.m.

The crash landing is being investigated.

The airport is served by a handful of major airlines. It said it handles about 100 flights daily to 15 non-stop destinations.
