Vehicles entered: John Plesovich, 710 Short St., told Canonsburg police Thursday his iPod Touch was stolen from his vehicle while Carla McCullough, 425 Giffen Ave., reported a global positioning system stolen from her vehicle. Both vehicles were parked at 425 Giffen.

Criminal mischief: The rear window of a sport-utility vehicle parked in the lot of Bianco School of Baseball, 105 Springfield Drive, Lawrence, was broken between 11:40 and 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, township police said. Amy Racunas of Venetia, reported the damage at 11:56 a.m. The window was broken by an unknown object.

Driver injured: Jeremy L. Perschka, 35, of 300 Main St., Brownsville, was injured Friday morning when his vehicle went off Dally Road, Long Branch, and hit two mailboxes. The vehicle then went across a yard and came to rest in some bushes. Pecharka was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital. He will be cited for driving with a suspended licene, driving an unregistered vehicle and having expired inspection. The charges will be sent from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Homes, cars egged: Township police are looking for vandals who are throwing eggs at homes and vehicles. Police said the initial egging happened July 15 in the Meadowbrook and Borland Manor areas. This week, homes were hit in Meadowbrook as well as the Fox Chase plan. Police said in some cases the same homes and vehicles were targeted twice. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-746-8474.

Retail theft: Jayla Renee Barnett was placed in the Washington County Jail on $1,000 bond, charged with retail theft, after police said she placed $181 in clothing from T.J. Maxx in Donaldsons Crossroads shopping center in her purse. Barnett, 27, of 1816 Woodward Ave., Pittsburgh, was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson. She was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Three injured: One driver was flown from the scene of a two-car accident on Washington Road, just south of Moccasin Drive, Thursday evening, police said. Stuart William Sherman, 43, of 401 Abbeyville Road, Mt. Lebanon, was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, after police said his car collided head-on with another car in the southbound lanes at 6:26 p.m. Thursday. Sherman suffered a compound right leg fracture and ankle injuries, and had to be extricated from his vehicle, police said. The driver of the car Sherman struck, Justin John Wilkinson, 26, of 1240 Highfield Court, Bethel Park, and a passenger, Taylor Bish, 24, also of 1240 Highfield Court, Bethel Park, were transported to UPMC-Presbyterian. Wilkinson suffered facial lacerations; Bish complained of leg pain, police said. Police said the investigation continues as Sherman may have suffered a medical emergency before the collision.

Woman injured: Sarah Byers, 71, of Washington, was injured Sunday morning when her vehicle left the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in South Strabane, crossed into the eastbound lanes and then hit an embankment. Byers was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.

Driver identified: A Washington man was injured Thursday night when his pickup truck hit a pole at Maiden and South Main streets in Washington. Washington police said Cody McConnell, 27, of 1061 S. Main St., was making a left turn when he clipped the pole, flipping his vehicle. City police were still working on the report Friday, and there was no indication if McConnell received treatment for his injuries.

Copper stolen: Dave Bruno of 65 Campbell Ave., reported Thursday 350 to 400 feet of copper, copper fittings and valves were stolen from his business, Washington police said.

Car stolen, recovered: Washington police are investigating the theft of a Chevrolet sedan from the 200 block of Lincoln Terrace Thursday night. Police were on patrol about 10 p.m. on Murtland Avenue when they spotted the car with no rear lights and attempted to make a traffic stop. The car fled and two men who had been in the car abandoned it in the 300 block of Locust Avenue. The driver wore a Pittsburgh Steelers hat. A witness told police the possible name of the driver. Police went to a home in Lincoln Terrace, where they found the alleged driver and recovered the hat. Police also found suspected marijuana. The owner of the car, Sheila Cruz, 519 McCrae Ave., Donora, told police that she parked it in the 200 block of Lincoln Terrace with the keys in it. She discovered it was missing Thursday night. Charges are pending after police complete their investigation.

Arson suspected: A state police fire marshal is investigating a fire just after midnight Thursday on a porch at the home of Patty Barnes, 675 Addison St. A neighbor put out the fire that also damaged a bench, child’s car seat and siding.

Assault, harassment charges: Thomas Edison of 470 Ewing St., Washington, was charged in a private criminal complaint filed by Joyce Davison of Pittsburgh with simple assault and harassment. He is accused of sitting on her and putting a knee in her back while the two were at her parents’ Ewing Street home on July 21. The charges, approved by an assistant district attorney this week, will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Contractor, worker charged: Robert Cummings and Walter Moore, both of Smithfield, were charged in a private criminal complaint filed by James and Gulden Firinci, 345 Donnan Ave., Washington. Cummings is charged with theft by deception and contractor fraud for allegedly taking almost $3,300 to purchase supplies for a roofing job in June. A portion of the shingles were delivered and he reportedly never came to complete the work, according to the complaint approved by the district attorney’s office. Moore, who is reportedly an employee of Cummings, took $280 from Mrs. Firinci for roof jacks but never returned. The charges, signed Thursday, will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Theft charge: Douglas Crouse, 21, of 38 W. Walnut St., Washington, was charged Thursday with theft by Washington police for allegedly stealing an extension cord and vacuum cleaner from Residential Recoveries, 38 W. Walnut, and selling them at a pawn shop July 26. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Retail theft charge: Harry Irvin, 50, of 666 Broad St., Washington, was charged Monday by Washington police with felony retail theft for allegedly stealing $257 in groceries from Shop ‘n Save Aug. 6. Irvin was spotted pushing a grocery cart near the intersection of Extension Street and May Avenue. When he saw police, he abandoned the cart and ran. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Drug charges: Anthony McGinnis, 21, of 109 W. Walnut St., Washington, was charged Monday by Washington police with possession of cocaine and marijuana after officers found the suspected drugs while answering a noise complaint at his home on Aug. 10. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Hindering charge: Gabriella Barron, 19, of 31 Buttonwood Ave., Washington, was charged Monday by Washington police with hindering apprehension for reportedly lying to police. Officers were trying to serve a warrant on Eric D. Wells when she told them he was not there. Police then saw Wells going out the back door of her home. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
