GREENVILLE (AP) – Police and firefighters responded amid unconfirmed reports of injuries after an explosion at a Western Pennsylvania industrial park holding fuel tanks.

The explosion happened about 5:45 p.m. Monday at Brownies Oil Co. in Reynolds Industrial Park in Mercer County.

The industrial park is in Greenville, a remote borough of about 6,000 people located 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, near the Ohio line.

Emergency crews at the scene are investigating the cause of the explosion.

A dispatcher at the county 911 center said the site contained bulk diesel or propane refueling tanks.

Further details weren’t available at press time.
