Washington City Councilman Joe Manning and state Rep. Tim Murphy, R-18th District, will host a town hall meeting at 3:30 p.m.Sept. 4 in council chambers at Washington City Hall, 55 W. Maiden St., to discuss the Affordable Care Act.

According to Manning, the meeting was scheduled after he was approached by area business leaders who were concerned they did not have enough information regarding the new law on national health care. Manning says, “There are complex issues that will be facing business leaders and I wanted to ensure they had enough information as possible so that they’ll be prepared to deal with this new law.”

The Affordable Care Act was signed into law in March 2010. On June 28, 2012 the Supreme Court rendered a final decision to uphold the health care law.

Manning encourages any business owner or any member of the public who would like more information about this important issue to attend this meeting. For more information, call Manning at 724-263-8543.
