King Coal Pet Parade winners announced
CARMICHAELS – The 47th annual King Coal Children’s Pet Parade took place Wednesday in the Carmichaels Borough town circle. Dozens of youngsters gathered with their pets from the most unusual to the ordinary. Judges, stationed in the middle of the circle, selected the pets that would receive a prize presented by 2013 Coal Queen Marina Stefano. The categories and those who placed in each are as follows:
Cutest kitten

The Coal Show will continue this evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with the Double Down Band, exhibits, food and carnival rides at the Carmichaels Cumberland Township Fire Department facilities. The King Coal Prince and Princess will be crowned at 8 p.m.
The show will wrap up Saturday starting with the annual Charles Workman Car Show at Wana B Park, followed by the car show parade and King Coal Show parade at 3:50 p.m. Events at the fire hall will begin at 5 p.m. with local band Hit-N-Run, playing from 7 to 10 p.m.
