McMURRAY – Peters Township School Board on Monday consolidated six central office leadership positions into five positions. The move will save the district $43,000 in salaries and benefits.
A new position, assistant to the superintendent for performance management, was created and Dr. Jennifer Murphy was hired at a salary of $113,000, and the position of director of personnel was also created. Patricia Kelly, currently the director of special education, was hired to fill that position at a salary of $99,600, effective Sept. 1.
Patricia Kardambikis, the current assistant to the superintendent for curriculum instruction and assessment, was appointed assistant superintendent with an annual salary of $118,000, effective Sept. 1.
In addition, Vincent Belczyk, business manager, was assigned additional human resources duties at a salary of $96,000, effective Sept. 1. The vacant director of staff development position was eliminated.
“Overall, the changes will result in a more than $43,000 reduction in salary and benefits while providing a structure better suited to meet the needs of a high-achieving district,” said Shelly Belcher, district spokeswoman.
Kardambikis, in addition to her current duties, will address district policies, comprehensive planning, homeschooling and homebound instruction.
The position of director of instructional technology, with a salary of $75,000, remains open.
