WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg University’s Merit Badge University, planned for Saturday, Oct. 26, will provide Boy Scouts with the opportunity to earn merit badges while being exposed to a wide spectrum of academic disciplines by qualified faculty and staff at Waynesburg University.

“Waynesburg University has a scouting tradition which started in the early 1900s with Gen.Edward Martin and which continues to our current president, Douglas Lee, who is an Eagle Scout himself,” said Jacquelyn Core, acting provost at Waynesburg University. “Hosting Merit Badge University is an honor and a way for us to give back to one of the organizations which helped shape the character of our institution.”

The one-day event will take place on the campus of Waynesburg University and will offer 20 merit badges, including bird study, chemistry, citizenship in the nation, fingerprinting and public health.
