GREENSBURG (AP) – The man who formerly headed a school district maintenance department has been sentenced to five to 10 years following his conviction on charges he supplied cocaine and heroin to lower-level dealers throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 56-year-old David Greece, of Unity Township, was convicted Thursday.
Police don’t believe Greece distributed drugs at schools in the Greensburg-Salem School District where he worked, about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.
His defense attorney, Paul Boas, says Greece disputes the charges and plans to appeal, but also went on to say, “This is an example of a good man who’s done a bad thing, not a bad man.”
Greece’s wife, Paula, and another alleged co-conspirator are expected to receive plea bargains for cooperating with Westmoreland County authorities.
