Charges reduced in sexual assaults

WAYNESBURG – Johnnie Lorenzo Carter, 30, of 311 Tollgate Run Road, Waynesburg, pleaded guilty last week to a reduced charge of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age.
Carter was arrested by state police Feb. 15 and initially charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault and indecent assault.
A sentencing in the matter is pending.
At the time of Carter’s arrest two others from the same address were charged with sex-related charges stemming from unrelated incidents that began in 2000.
Charges against John Cleveland Carter, 49, and Donna O. Carter, 49, were reduced last week to a third degree misdemeanor of harassment with a victim between the ages of 12 and 18.
They both received sentences of one year of probation and were ordered to pay fines of $300 plus court costs and fees. Both are required to undergo mental health evaluations and treatment.
