A Washington man faces a preliminary hearing in Central Court next week for allegedly forcing his way into the home of a 21-year-old Washington woman, raping her and holding her against her will for nine hours.

Darius Allen Duncan, 19, of 102 E. Hallam Ave., is accused of going to the woman’s home about 10 p.m. Nov. 26. When she opened the door, police said he forced his way in and started striking her multiple times on the face and head, knocking her unconscious.

While the woman was unconscious on the kitchen floor, Duncan allegedly raped her. She told police that when she regained consciousness, she tried to fight off Duncan and scratched his face.

Duncan then tied her hands and feet before carrying her to a second-floor bedroom where her children were sleeping, police said. He reportedly then put her on the bed and raped her multiple times throughout the night, police said. According to police, Duncan left the woman’s home about 7 a.m. the following day. Before leaving, he told her that if she called police, he would kill her, police said.

The woman came to the police station about 30 minutes later to report the assault. Duncan was taken into custody later that day. Duncan was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on two counts each of rape and rape on an unconscious person and one count each of aggravated assault, burglary, kidnapping, unlawful restraint and terroristic threats. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.

The victim was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
