Robbery, theft charges: Joshua P. Liesman, 23, of 1003 Highland Drive, Canonsburg, was charged Tuesday by North Franklin police with robbery and retail theft after allegedly grabbing two chainsaws at Sears, Washington Crown Center, Nov. 16 and running from the store. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Expensive bill stolen: North Franklin police said a dollar bill valued at $185 was stolen Saturday from Coin and Hobby, Washington Crown Center. An employee told police two men entered the store. One of them distracted him while the other grabbed the dollar bill.

Salt stolen: An employee of Washington Crown Center told North Franklin police Nov. 27 that more than 20 tons of road salt were stolen from a bin at the shopping center. The salt, which cost $2,000, had been delivered the previous day.

Business burglarized: North Strabane police are investigating a burglary that occurred between about midnight Wednesday and Sunday night at Ametek, 1085 Route 519. Police said about 1,000 pounds of mid- and high-grade copper was stolen.

Home burglarized: Terra A. Alberts, 1604 Stone Creek Lane, told South Strabane police Monday two, 50-inch flat screen televisions, a Harbor Freight tool box with $1,400 in tools, a Winchester Savage rifle, Sony Playstation and Mavado watch were stolen from the home. Both Alberts and fellow resident, Darrell Miller, had been gone for a week and when Alberts returned the theft was discovered.

DUI arrest: Denis R. Gaber, 74, of 106 Willow Lane, Houston, will be charged by South Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing his vehicle Monday morning in the 800 block of Berry Road. Police said his vehicle went 20 feet over a hill into the brush. Police also found a small bottle of vodka that was almost empty in the vehicle. His blood alcohol content was almost double the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Home burglarized: Ricky Cushey, 1085 Route 837, Union, told Southwest Regional police Nov. 21 that a four rifles and a bolt-action gun were stolen in a burglary of his home.
