SOMERSET (AP) – A Southwestern Pennsylvania woman has been sentenced to 89 days she’s already spent in jail for falsely soliciting donations to buy a headstone for a murder victim.

The (Somerset) Daily American reported 19-year-old Faith Ann Robertson, of Meyersdale, was sentenced Tuesday to 89 days to 12 months in jail Tuesday, then immediately paroled after being given credit for time served since her arrest.

Meyersdale police said two residents donated $25 when Robertson showed up at their door last December seeking the money in memory of Justine Jackson, and three more people told police they refused donation requests from Roberson. Police say she wasn’t authorized by anyone to collect the money

Twenty-four-year-old Jonathan Beal, of Meyersdale, is serving 10 to 24 years for killing Jackson in November 2012.
