PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Much of Pennsylvania got socked Tuesday with another snowstorm that closed schools, delayed flights and made travel difficult through parts of the state.

Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches were expected as the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Eastern Seaboard, including Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Wilmington, Del.

Philadelphia International Airport briefly grounded departing flights due to snow and ice. Inbound planes were delayed by nearly 4 1/2 hours at mid-morning Tuesday, according to the tracking website FlightAware.com.

The new snow came on the heels of Sunday’s wintry weather, which dumped several inches of snow on the Philadelphia area — though most of that melted Monday.

On Tuesday, schools closed in Philadelphia and its suburbs; classes were also canceled in many districts to the north and west of the city, including in Bethlehem, Easton and Lancaster.

Areas of central Pennsylvania were expected to get up to 3 inches, as was much of the greater Pittsburgh area.

State transportation officials lowered the speed limits on major highways due to the storm.
