JESSUP, Pa. (AP) — Police say a burglar in northeastern Pennsylvania fled after taking an elderly woman’s crochet work — possibly because the person needed a bandage.

A Scranton newspaper reports that the unidentified 87-year-old Jessup woman called police at about 11:45 p.m. Monday to report a burglar in her basement. That’s just outside Scranton.

The burglar fled, but not before he grabbed the woman’s crochet work. Jessup Police Chief Joseph Walsh says the burglar may have used the crochet work as a bandage, since there was blood around a broken window that was used to enter the house.

Police are still investigating, and no arrests have been made.
