Commissioners fill county board seats

WAYNESBURG – After adopting its no-tax increase $17.7 million 2014 budget, the Greene County commissioners got down to the nuts and bolts business of the day – filling numerous positions on county boards and authorities.
The commissioners appointed Victoria Beppler of Waynesburg University; Cathy McCollom of the River Towns Program; Jim Winegar of Artbeat; and Matthew Young of Mictotel to serve on the board of directors of the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency.
Larry Marshall was reappointed to the Greene County Fair Board of Directors, and Larry Stratton, Francis Minor and Alfred Burns were reappointed to the county planning commission.
Donna Furnier. John Mariner and Reed Kiger were reappointed to the tax abatement board, and Thelma Szarell was reappointed to the board of the redevelopment authority.
Andrew Corfont was reappointed to the Industrial Development Authority board and William A. Cree III was appointed chairman of the Greene County Farmland Preservation board.
Four people were appointed to the Children and Youth Advisory Board. They were Pat Lemley, Sam Silbaugh, Laura Walters and the Rev. Harold Kelley.
