WAYNESBURG – During its final meeting of 2103, the Greene County Salary Board Thursday acknowledged the retirements of three longtime county row officers and removed another elected official from the payroll.

Leaving office at the end of the year will be Thomas Headlee, who served 38 years as the county’s register of wills and recorder of deeds; Sheriff Richard Ketchem, who announced earlier this year he would not seek re-election to another term after serving since 1990; and Rosalind Laur, the Republican jury commissioner since 1984.

Lynn Leathers, the Democratic jury commissioner who was elected in 2009, was removed from the payroll, more as a bookkeeping measure since the county previously abolished the office of jury commissioner.

In matters pertaining to the county jail, the salary board approved the promotion of Davida Romanakis to regular part-time corrections officer at an hourly rate of $14.02; approved the promotion of Matthew Thomas as a regular full-time corrections officer at a rate of $15.02 an hour; approved the transfer of Rob Strope from regular full-time to regular part-time corrections officer, and accepted the resignations of Shayne Krause and Thomas Jordan as a corrections officer and casual corrections officer, respectively.

In other business, the board:

• Approved the transfer of Linda Raymont from regular full-time to regular part-time county caseworker with the human services department

• Approved the hiring of Kayla Coss as a temporary intern with the tourism department at a rate of $8 an hour

• Rehired Mary Ann Fuller as a full-time assistant in the office of District Judge Glenn Bates

• Approved a pay increase to $10 an hour for Laurie Thomas, a legal intern with the public defender’s office

• Approved the retirements of Donna Neino, fiscal manager with Children and Youth, and Susan Roupe, assistant director of the county’s tax claim department
