Monongahela and Carroll Township residents will see a reduction in sewerage rates.
The reductions are included in the 2014 budget, which the board for the Municipal Authority of the City of Monongahela passed on Nov. 21.
Expenditures are set at $2.8 million, which results in a monthly rate decrease for Monongahela residents of 6.2 percent. The rate reduction lowers the monthly base fee for residents using less than 3,000 gallons of water from $35.03 per month to $32.85 per month.
The 2014 budget also results in a reduction of base flow fees paid for by Carroll Township Sewer Authority from $855,600 per year to $834,600 per year.
The budget continues a three-year trend that has seen Carroll Township budgeted base fees drop from $965,800 in 2011 to $834,600 in 2014.
