CONSHOHOCKEN (AP) – The former tennis coach of at an independent Catholic day school for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade has surrendered to face charges that he texted one of his 15-year-old players and tried to kiss her.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 52-year-old Charles Meredith, of Conshohocken.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Plymouth Township police announced Meredith’s arrest stemming from alleged conduct from August through October. Meredith was still coach at Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Bryn Mawr, another Philadelphia suburb.

Meredith surrendered for arraignment on charges of corruption of minors and was released pending a preliminary hearing in February.

The Associated Press could not immediately locate a telephone listing for Meredith.
