A Washington man has waived his right to a preliminary hearing after East Washington police slapped him with additional charges.

Ryan Avery-Vaughn Tyler, 26, of 112 Burton Ave., Washington, is accused of breaking into a number of vehicles and garages over the summer in East Washington. Several of the incidents occurred on or along Elmhurst Drive, East Washington police said.

Tyler was set to be arraigned on some of the charges, including theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, theft and burglary, on Dec. 11 in front of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

But Tyler waived that hearing after additional charges were brought against him that day, court documents said. Tyler also waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the new charges, which also include theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, theft and burglary.

He remains in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. No further court date has been set.
