GREENSBURG (AP) – A Western Pennsylvania judge has dismissed murder charges against three of four people charged in the drug-related slaying of a man a year ago.
A Westmoreland County judge dismissed second-degree murder and homicide charges against 43-year-old Jesus Santiago, 24-year-old Danielle Clawson, and 23-year-old Tiffany Blattenberger.
In rulings issued last week and this week, the judge said it was clear that they weren’t responsible for the December 2012 death of 24-year-old Matthew Volk in a Derry Township mobile home.
Prosecutors had alleged that the three conspired with Volk to steal money from another man who ended up shooting Volk.
Twenty-one-year-old Ronnell Moses Jr. of Penn Hills remains charged in the murder. His attorney has indicated that he will argue that his client acted in self-defense.
