Defendants sentenced in county court

WAYNESBURG – Several criminal defendants pleaded guilty Dec. 18 before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman. They included:
Marguerite Jane Pacheco, 57, of 420 Hoy Run Road, Spraggs; offenses – simple assault and harassment; on Feb. 25, Pacheco assaulted her husband and pointed a handgun at him, forcing him to leave their residence; sentence – one day in jail, credit for the day she had spent in jail, no further penalty; continuing mental health treatment.
Michael Alan Lewis, 49, of 315 Green Valley Road, Carmichaels; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol; On July 19, police observed Lewis stop his motorcycle at a stop sign; he was unable to balance himself and the motorcycle fell over; his blood-alcohol content was 0.191 percent; sentence – to be sentenced later.
Douglas R. Wood, 45, of 2326 Mt. Morris Road, Waynesburg; offenses – possession of drug paraphernalia; during a traffic stop March 10, Wood, a passenger in the vehicle, was intoxicated and in possession of a marijuana pipe; sentence – 6 months of probation, $300 fine, 50 hours of community service.
Nevin Lee Mitchell, 26, of 225 Herrods Run Road, New Freeport; offenses – criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property; a charge of burglary was withdrawn; on April 30, 2012, Mitchell and Brian Phillips were involved in a burglary on Grant Lane in Nemacolin; police later pursued Phillips vehicle which crashed at Route 88 and Ceylon Road; Phillips and Mitchell were both seriously injured; sentence – 5 years in the Greene County intermediate punishment program, including 12 months of house arrest; drug and alcohol assessment and random drug and alcohol testing; $750 fine.
Brittany V. Stallman, 23, of 287 Huffman St., Waynesburg; offenses – two counts each possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance; one count each possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver; on Jan. 1, Stallman sold two stamp bags of heroin to a state police confidential information; on April 22, police found heroin, marijuana, syringes and smoking devices at a home Stallman shared with Jason R. Rush; sentence – 6 to 23 ½ months in jail, followed by 2 years of probation; $1,250 in fines, 175 hours of community service; drug and alcohol assessment and random drug and alcohol testing.
