A Canton Township man died Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash in Greene County.

James R. Waychoff, 40, of Mark Avenue, was killed around 2 p.m. on Route 188 in Franklin Township, about a quarter-mile east of Braden Run Road.

State police in Waynesburg reported Waychoff lost control of the vehicle he was driving on a curve, and it slid on the driver’s side, left the roadway and hit the guide rail with the windshield.

Greene County Coroner Greg Rohanna said Waychoff died at the scene and the cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy. There were no passengers.

Rohanna said Waychoff was driving a water truck owned by Myers Well Service of Export, Westmoreland County. It could not be determined whether he was an employee.
