DA probes fatal shooting by Harrisburg officer

HARRISBURG (AP) – Authorities in central Pennsylvania are investigating a shooting death by a Harrisburg police officer over the weekend.

The (Harrisburg) Patriot-News reports that the gunfire occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Dauphin County district attorney’s office said police were investigating a suspicious pickup truck in the city when shots were fired.

District Attorney Ed Marisco Jr. said a man died after he was hit. His name has not been released pending notification of his family.

No further details were available from the district attorney’s office, which investigates all police-involved shootings.
