Minor injury: One person suffered minor injuries when the car in which he was a passenger struck a tree that had fallen on Route 188 at 3:15 a.m. Dec. 22, state police said. Police said the tree fell in front of a car driven by Brandon J. Mayberry, 19, of Pittsburgh. Mayberry was not injured; a passenger, Mathew J. Carroll, 23, of Conway, received minor injuries.

Man hospitalized: A Monaco man was hospitalized after his truck ran off Interstate 79 and down a steep embankment at 8:01 a.m. Dec. 24, state police said. Raymond L. Kosto, 66, was listed in good condition Monday in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Police said Kosto was driving south when he lost control of his truck on a bridge. The truck hit two sets of guardrails, then traveled about 100 yards down a steep embankment, coming to rest in a ditch.

Two cited: Two men allegedly involved in an altercation at 2 p.m. Dec. 21 at the BFS Store were cited by state police. Police said Bryan Hutchinson, no age given, of Mather, allegedly spit on Barry Douglas, no age given, of Waynesburg. Douglas allegedly broke the driver’s side window of Hutchinson’s vehicle.
