Gov. Tom Corbett announced Friday that Tom Uram of Eighty Four has been appointed to the Council of Trustees at California University of Pennsylvania.

The former chairman of the Washington County Republican Committee, Uram was also recently named to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.

Reached by phone Friday, Uram said he is looking forward to working with the council as they continue to make Cal U. a thriving university.

“It’s an honor to be asked,” he said. “We’ll do the best job we can do.”

Uram said he will take the place of Bob Irey, the council’s current chairman.

The governor also announced that Annette D. Ganassi of Champion had been reappointed as a Cal U. trustee.
