Charges are pending against a Washington woman who allegedly threatened to shoot a state worker calling about an outstanding school loan payment.

Washington police said charges of terroristic threats are to be filed against Sylvia Hawkins of 20 Brookside Ave. for threats she reportedly made to a Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency worker.

According to police, PHEAA investigator William Sullivan came to the police department Thursday and reported the threats allegedly made to agency worker Jessica Peters of Lewisberry.

Sullivan told police Peters has been attempting to contact Hawkins regarding an outstanding loan. On each attempt, Peters would leave a voicemail, because Hawkins never answered her telephone.

Then, May 17, Sullivan said an agitated Hawkins called Peters, yelling and cursing, and stated she was “coming down there to personally blow your brains out.”

He alleges Hawkins called again Jan. 9 and told Peters she was going to “shoot your head off.” Sullivan said Hawkins made similar calls on two others occasions.
