The following people appeared recently in Washington County Court on criminal charges.
Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:
Francis V. Brown, 20, of 6309 Hallwood Drive, Verona; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged after police found marijuana-related paraphernalia Oct. 28 at his Fifth Street apartment in California Borough; sentence – 6 months of probation without verdict.
Donald G. Cox II, 28, of 21 Baker St., Burgettstown; criminal trespass; charged after police responded Dec. 17 to a break-in at 50 Purdy Road Extension, Hanover Township; sentence – 45 days to 23 months in jail.
Kathleen S. Joy, 63, of 103 Foxchase Drive, Canonsburg; retail theft; charged for trying to steal $185 worth of merchandise Dec. 11 from Giant Eagle, 4007 Washington Road, McMurray; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery were:
Damian L. Chadwick, 34, of 1296 Henderson Ave., Washington; possession of a controlled substance; charged after police were called Sept. 14 to assist with a probation compliance check at 350 Oakspring Road, Chartiers Township, and found two stamp bags containing heroin; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Joseph E. Gorby, 25, of 619 Best Ave., Washington; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged after police found two syringes and eight stamp bags in his vehicle following a traffic stop May 4 at East Wylie and Allison avenues in Washington; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Several people were recently admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition program for first-time offenders. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to expunge their records.
Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman were:
Cornell Hamilton Jr., 22, of 228 Village of Searights, Uniontown, admitted for 12 months and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service for theft, receiving stolen property and trespassing. Hamilton was charged for stealing scrap metal Aug. 16 from a property belonging to West Pike Run Township.
Jessica Kern, 22, of 4106 Greenridge, Apt. 2, Pittsburgh, admitted for 12 months and ordered to pay $530 restitution and complete 50 hours of community service for receiving stolen property, forgery and conspiracy to commit forgery. Kern was charged for receiving forged checks stolen from a Marianna woman June 8 through June 12.
Timothy Romanetti, 34, of 206 Agape Road, Hickory, admitted for 6 months and ordered to pay $18,000 restitution for theft. Romanetti was charged for stealing 200 concrete forms June 6 from Midway Contracting & Supply Co., 2205 Quicksilver Road, Robinson Township.
