Man drive wrong way on Route 51

A Greensburg man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital Saturday morning after the vehicle he was driving struck the cement median of Interstate 70 and rolled over several times following a pursuit that included him driving the wrong way on Route 51.

State police in Belle Vernon said Thomas Hall, received moderate injuries. He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. There was no word on his condition.

A Rostraver Township patrol officer observed the vehicle Hall was driving going erratically on Route 51 at about 1 a.m.

When the officef attempted to stop Hal lat the GetGo station, the vehicle accelerated, traveling the wrong way on Route 51 before entering Interstate 70. The vehicle then crossed both lanes of the interstate, struck the cement median and rolled several times before coming to rest on its side.

Hall had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The interstate was shut down for more than an hour.

State police said Hall will face numerous charges.
