Countertops stolen: Barbara Kritiko of Washington told Chartiers police Monday that countertops valued at $1,300 were stolen over the weekend from the Washington County Fairgrounds and Exposition Center.
Woman assaulted: Keith Farmer, 21, of 251 Parker St., Chartiers, will be charged by Chartiers police with simple assault, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief for allegedly assaulting Michele Dorance, 20, also of 251 Parker, at their home Monday. He also allegedly broke a glass door and threw a hamster cage on the floor. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Money stolen: Tom Zawatski of 200 Ewing St., Meadow Lands, told Chartiers police Saturday that $300 in change was stolen from his home. Another $100 was stolen from his wife’s purse.
Faces charges: Charles Shayne Swoger, 23, of 93 South St., Brownsville, was arraigned Tuesday on charges stemming from two complaints filed by state and Donora police. State police charged him with receiving stolen property for allegedly selling a gaming system stolen from a Bentleyville woman at a Belle Vernon resale shop in December. Donora police charged him with aggravated assault, escape, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding police and other charges stemming from a Dec. 28 incident in Highland Terrace. His vehicle almost hit a Donora cruiser as he fled the area. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in the Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.
Two slightly injured: Russell D. Smith, 44, of Pittsburgh, and his wife, Gina Smith, 44, were slightly injured Monday when their car was hit from behind on Route 519 by a vehicle driven by Constanza Dimenno, 85, of Canonsburg, North Strabane police said. Smith’s vehicle was stopped in traffic when it was hit, police said.
Nurse assaulted: Robert A. Hill Sr., 57, of 317 Thornwood Drive, Canonsburg, was charged Monday by North Strabane police with aggravated assault, harassment and two counts of disorderly conduct. He is accused of yelling obscenities while being treated at Canonsburg General Hospital and punching an emergency room nurse. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Charged in crash: Joshua Lee Owens, 33, of 503 Linden Road, North Strabane, was charged Monday by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and several traffic violations stemming from a Nov. 22 crash on Route 19. His blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication, police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Faces charges: Anthony Porterfield, 20, of Uniontown, faces several charges including fleeing from police after incidents Friday and Saturday in Somerset, state police said. He is accused of striking a vehicle driven by Randall Naser, 57, of Scenery Hill, on Route 917 Friday. He is also accused of fleeing from police as they tried to stop him Saturday to serve a felony warrant.
Charged in crash: Thomas Clark Signor, 35, of 423 Ketchum Drive, Canonsburg, was charged Monday with DUI stemming from an Aug. 14 crash in which his vehicle hit a guardrail on Interstate 70 east, South Strabane, state police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft report: Adam Shrump of 60 Victoria St., Washington, told city police about 1 p.m. Monday 25 compact discs, a knife and $2 were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked overnight outside his residence.
