Rohanna seeking reelection
WAYNESBURG – Greene County Coroner Gregory P. Rohanna announced Tuesday he will seek reelection in the May 21 primary.
Rohanna has served as coroner of Greene County for 17 years and prior to becoming coroner, Rohanna was the chief deputy coroner for 14 years.
On seeking reelection, Rohanna said, “I appreciate the confidence the citizens of Greene County have had in me and my office. It has been a great opportunity and I ask the citizens of Greene County for their continued support to serve them as coroner.”
A 1975 graduate of Waynesburg High School, Rohanna continued his education at West Virginia University and Waynesburg College before graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1982. He is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Coroner’s Certification Course.
Rohanna is a licensed funeral director and supervisor of the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc. in Jefferson. He also has served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and the United States Army Reserve for 13 years.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Coroner’s Association, and the Pennsylvania State Coroner’s Association Executive Board where he serves as the regional vice president of Region 5, covering Greene, Washington, Fayette, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler and Westmoreland counties.
Rohanna has served as an officer and president of both the Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the Pennsylvania State Funeral Directors Association. He has served as a member of the National Funeral Directors Association National Policy Board representing the state of Pennsylvania.
Rohanna is also a member of the Hewitt Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Post 954 of Jefferson, the United Way of Greene County, the Clarksville Area Lions Club, and the Waynesburg Moose Lodge No. 461.
A father of three, Rohanna lives in Waynesburg with his wife, Mary.
