A $2 million project to improve the Route 22/Route 980/Potato Garden Road interchange in North Fayette Township, Allegheny County, will begin on Monday, weather permitting.

The project includes bridge superstructure and interchange rehabilitation, milling and resurfacing, concrete pavement patching, drainage, guide rail, shoulders, signing and pavement marking and other improvements.

Work will begin on the ramp from Route 980 and Old Steubenville Pike to eastbound Route 22. The bridge of the Montour Trail, which is between Route 980 and Old Steubenville Pike, will be rehabilitated.

The bridge will be closed long-term beginning at 7 a.m. Monday continuously through late August. Access from Old Steubenville Pike to eastbound Route 22 will remain open.
