Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.

Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery were:

Timothy W. Grimes, 38, of 603 N. Main St., Washington; theft, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged July 19 for stealing $100 cash from a woman’s purse at 1109 Findlay St., Canton Township; also charged Sept. 18 after police found syringes on his person during a search near the 10 block of West Chestnut Street in Washington; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Edward J. Deems, 33, of 66 Hedge Ave., Marianna; access device fraud, two counts of driving under the influence, two counts of driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance, unsworn falsification to authorizes, retail theft; charged following a traffic stop Jan. 6, 2012, along Pennsylvania Avenue in California for having heroin in his system; charged April 17 for stealing merchandise from the Giant Eagle in Bentleyville; charged July 26 after police responded to an incident at the Friendship Lounge in Richeyville; charged Aug. 15 for falsely identifying himself to police during a traffic stop in Speers in June; charged Aug. 24 for making unauthorized purchases on a woman’s bank card in Richeyville; sentence – 180 days to 18 months in jail, ordered to pay $512 in restitution and $4,000 in fines.

Danny W. McAnany II, 21, of 324 Burton Ave., Washington; terroristic threats, criminal mischief; charged Sept. 9 following an incident for threatening a woman at a Yorktown Drive residence in Lawrence; sentence – 23 months of probation under intensive supervision, ordered to pay $2,750 in restitution.

Cullen J. Chatman, 21, of 237 Point View Drive, Canton Township; possession of a small amount of marijuana; charged following a traffic stop Feb. 8, 2012, at the Interstate 70 park-and-ride in South Strabane Township; sentence – 30 days of the Probation Without Verdict program.

Amy M. Levkulich, 32, of 449 Center Ave., Charleroi; first offense of DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance; charged following a traffic stop June 11 at Old Country Club Road and Walnut Street in Monongahela for having oxycodone and marijuana in her system; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,500 fine.

Jonathan M. Smoody, 40, of 645 Carmichaels St., Crucible; possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged after police found 22 stamp bags of heroin in his vehicle following a traffic stop Aug. 18 in the 200 block of 10th Street in Donora; sentence -12 months of probation.

Angela R. Hoefler, 29, of 226 Union St., Monongahela; simple assault, two counts of reckless endangering another person; charged following a domestic disturbance Aug. 3 at her residence; sentence – 18 months of probation, ordered to complete anger management and 25 hours of community service.

Stephen A. Filander, 30, of 142 Pennsylvania Ave., Monessen; theft; charged Feb. 22, 2012, for stealing jewelry from 612 Fourth St., North Charleroi; sentence – 23 months of probation, ordered complete 100 hours of community service and pay $3,500 in restitution.

Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:

Mark W. Melone, 49, of 846 Ewing St., Washington; simple assault; charged for beating a woman July 27 in the parking lot of the BP gas station in Buffalo Township; sentence – 11 ½ to 23 months in jail, ordered to pay $17,636 in restitution and attend anger management classes.

Kelly M. Kover, 22, of 920 Weirich Ave., Canton Township; defiant trespass, access device fraud, theft; charged for making unauthorized purchases on Canton woman’s credit card at various locations in Washington between May 26 and 29; charged June 4 for trespassing at a neighbor’s residence; sentence – 18 months of probation with the first 90 days on intensive supervision.

Jessie R. Lamoureaux, 32, of 208 E. Barr St., McDonald; second offense of DUI; charged following a traffic stop Jan. 29, 2012, in the 300 block of West Lincoln Avenue in McDonald for having a BAC of 0.232 percent; sentence – 90 days to 12 months on electronic home monitoring with the first 30 days on SCRAM-X, $1,500 fine, 18-month license suspension.

Dawn E. Hicks, 41, of 171 N. Jackson Ave., Pittsburgh; retail theft; charged for stealing merchandise May 12 from the Trinity Point Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – 7 to 23 months in jail, ordered to attend retail theft classes.

Jeffrey A. Turner, 58, of 441 Malone Ridge Road, Canton Township; four counts of harassment; charged for harassing four juvenile girls July 11 at the Shop ‘n Save grocery store, 125 W. Beau St., Washington; sentence – 6 months of probation, ordered to complete perpetrator counseling.
