Charged in crash: Frank Lee O’Dell, 25, of 44 Beech St., Muse, was charged this week by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a Jan. 18 crash in the 1300 block of Amity Ridge Road, Amwell. Police said he was driving north when his vehicle went off the road and hit a parked vehicle.
Charged in traffic stop: Dominique Lee Simmons, 23, of Columbus, Ohio, was charged by state police with possession of marijuana and false identification to police stemming from a Feb. 9 incident at Lone Pine One Stop, 1748 Amity Ridge Road, Amwell. Police also found him with a large quantity of money he claimed he won at a casino in Ohio. The money was confiscated by police. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Teen charged: Steven Niland, 19, of Macungie, Lehigh County, was charged by California police with loitering and prowling at night, resisting arrest, simple assault, disorderly conduct, underage drinking, public drunkenness and criminal mischief stemming from an incident early Saturday on Green Street and Strawberry Way. Police heard a commotion in the area and saw Niland trying to hide behind a parked car. When police told him to come out, he reportedly started running. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Multiple identification cards: Brent Moskula, 21, of Clarksville, was charged by California police with disoderly conduct after he was allegedly found with multiple identification cards on him. During the interview, he reportedly became loud and started to yell at officers.
Harassment charge: Jason Donnelly, 34, of Elizabeth, was charged with harassment Thursday by California police after allegedly sending text messages through the night to an unidentified victim. The victim told police Donnelly has been sending messages since October.
Bag found: A gym bag containing four cellphones, a router and car stereo were found Tuesday at Seven Hill convenience store, 368 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg police said.
Liquor violation: D’s Locker Room, 26 N. Jefferson Ave., was charged by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement with failing to have its manager complete alcohol management training. The incident occurred between October and January.
Drug arrest: Randy L. Earley Jr., 30, of 429 Jackson St., Monongahela, is charged by borough police with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse Earley of possessing a small amount of marijuana and three Suboxone strips when they stopped his vehicle on Route 906 north near the Donora-Monessen Bridge about 6 p.m. Feb. 1. He is free on $10,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant Wednesday and arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Woman assaulted: Debra Lehr, 52, of 445 Weis St., Donora, is charged by borough police with simple assault, accused of striking her daughter, Michelle Grcich, with her fists and a shoe and also biting her left shoulder about 8:15 p.m. Sunday at Lehr’s residence, court records show. She is in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Charged in assault: Mark R. Travena, 31, of 410 Plumsock Road, Prosperity, was charged this week by state police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting Bernice Kidwell at her home, 2287 Avella Road, Independence, Dec. 30. He is accused of knocking her to the ground, hitting her with a plastic shovel and punching her. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Charged with receiving: Jill A. Crouse, 23, of 11 Lemon Hill Road, Morris, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of receiving stolen property and conspiracy in connection with the theft of a handgun from her father Feb. 1. State police were called when Glenn Crouse discovered the theft after finding out she had offered to sell the gun. She was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Coats stolen: Three coats, valued at a total of $600, were stolen Monday from Gander Mountain, Washington Crown Center, North Franklin police said.
Three injured: Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of routes 519 and 980, North Strabane police said. A vehicle driven by Joseph Cumer, 26, of 603 Western Ave., Chartiers Township, was traveling south on Route 980 (South Central Avenue) when he made a wide left turn and struck a vehicle on Route 519, driven by Eric Temple, 45, of 15 E. Main St., West Middletown. Temple and a passenger, Randall Kidwell Jr., 42, of 2287 Avella Road, Avella, were taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment. Olivia Hart, 22, of 711 S. Central Ave., a passenger in Cumer’s vehicle, received a minor injury, police said. Cumer was cited for failing to stay in his lane.
Wreck: Amanda J. Miller, 22, of Fairchance, suffered minor injuries Wednesday when her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Glendon J. Plavi, 37, of Canonsburg, on Route 519 at 3:45 p.m. State police said Miller sneezed and crossed the center line. Plavi was not injured in the crash.
Charged in theft: Robert J. Brown, 39, of 265 King Air Circle, Washington, was charged with theft by state police after he allegedly stole a woman’s purse during a Feb. 10 cash bash at the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, 101 Jolly School Road. After Brown’s nephew saw him with the purse, the nephew returned it to police in North Franklin Township, who contacted the owner. The charge against Brown was sent by summons last week from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Netbook found: South Strabane police said an Acer Aspire One netbook was found earlier this month on Willowbrook Drive and turned in to police Wednesday. Anyone with information on the owner can call police at 724-225-8111.
Man charged: John Sargent, 52, of Washington, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence in connection with a traffic stop by state police at East Maiden Street and South Wade Avenue Jan. 26. State police said a blood test showed the presence of a controlled substance and a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit. Charges were filed with District Judge Robert Redlinger.
