Trucker cited, not charged in trooper’s death

SOUTH BEAVER (AP) — State police have issued two traffic citations to a trucker whose rig collided with a police cruiser, killing a Western Pennsylvania state trooper, but say they will not criminally charge the man in the officer’s death.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for 48-year-old Gregory Golkosky, of Mount Pleasant, and the Associated Press could not immediately locate a listed phone number for him Thursday.
Golkosky was cited Thursday for careless driving and allegedly running a stop sign before his truck collided with a cruiser driven on patrol by 47-year-old Trooper Blake Coble on Oct. 4. Coble died in the crash in South Beaver Township, about 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
Coble was stationed with Troop D in Beaver, where his wife was a dispatcher. The couple had two children.
