PITTSBURGH (AP) – The trial for a former armored car guard charged with killing his work partner and fleeing with more than $2 million has been delayed until Sept. 3.

Jury selection had been scheduled to start Monday for 23-year-old Kenneth Konias Jr., of Dravosburg.

But Allegheny County prosecutors and Konias’ defense attorney say a parallel investigation by the FBI – which is still tracking down some of the stolen money – has made some evidence unavailable to prosecutors.

Authorities say Konias fatally shot his partner, Michael Haines, before stealing $2.3 million from the Garda Cash Logistics vehicle in Pittsburgh last Feb. 28.

Konias spent about two months on the lam before his arrest in Florida. At least $1.1 million of the missing cash was recovered there, along with nearly $300,000 in Pennsylvania.
