PennDOT planning community meeting

The state Department of Transportation will hold its annual community outreach meeting March 22 in the community room at the Greene County Career and Technology Center, 60 Zimmerman Drive, Waynesburg.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with GIS mapping review, and networking from 12:30 to 1 p.m. The presentation will start at 1 p.m.
At the outreach meeting, PennDOT will have an opening presentation where it will discuss its department goals for 2013 and then host breakout areas where one can learn more about specific PennDOT activities.
Areas to be discussed will include:
•Construction and maintenance projects that will be in progress in 2013
•The increasing need to reduce highway fatalities and increase motorist safety
•PennDOT’s Intelligent Transportation System
•PennDOT’s Diverging Diamond Interchange
•Roundabouts
•Marcellus Shale
•Municipal services
